The Night Before Kickoff — What Changes When the Whistle Blows | On The Field · EP10

Tonight is the last quiet night. Since registration opened on June 22, the BWTC Futures Team Pro has been about one thing — signing up and building teams. Tomorrow it becomes a race. Team formation closes at 09:59 on July 9 (UTC+8), and one minute later the main competition begins [1]. Everything about how you win changes at that whistle.

Here is where things stand on the eve: what closes tonight, what opens tomorrow, and how a team actually wins once the field decides.

Where things stand on the eve

Registration has climbed past 17,000 [2]. That has pushed the combined prize pool across both BWTC tracks to 100,000 USDT unlocked — 80,000 in the team competition and 20,000 in the individual Trophy Picks track [2]. More than 80 teams have formed so far [2].

The team pool sits at 80,000 because registration cleared the 10,000-participant tier; the next step up the team ladder comes at 30,000 participants, which would unlock 240,000 [1][2].

Tonight the building stops

At 09:59 on July 9 (UTC+8), team formation closes [1]. That deadline has teeth for anyone short of a full squad: a public team with fewer than five members at that moment is automatically disbanded, and its members — captain included — are randomly reassigned to other public teams; a closed team below five is simply disbanded [1].

Until formation closes, teams under five can still let members switch, and captains can remove members or disband the team themselves [1]. So tonight is the last window to complete your five.

Tomorrow the field decides

At 10:00 on July 9 (UTC+8), the main competition begins, and from that moment trading volume counts [1]. This is the switch the whole event has been building toward: until now the work was assembling a team; from the whistle, it is playing. One consequence worth stating plainly — there are still no standings tonight.

Nothing has been traded in the competition window yet, so there is no leaderboard to read. That starts tomorrow.

Two ways a team wins

Once play starts, a team has two separate paths to the pool.

The first is Top Team Volume — teams ranked by total trading volume. The second is Top Team ROI — teams ranked by return, with one condition attached: a team only qualifies for the ROI pool if its combined futures volume reaches 1,000,000 USDT [1].

Of the current 80,000 team pool, the volume category holds 40,000, the ROI category 30,000, and the Top Captain category 10,000 — a 4:3:1 split that holds as the pool grows (at full unlock, 400,000 / 300,000 / 100,000) [1]. The captain’s own reward — 20% of the team’s take, paid in USDT crypto — we covered in EP9 [1].

The last gates before kickoff

A few conditions decide who is actually in the running. To have registered at all, your net asset value needed to stay above $100 for at least five minutes before signup, and market makers are not eligible [1].

And to be eligible for a reward once play starts, each participant needs a cumulative futures trading volume of at least 30,000 USDT during the main race [1] — you can rank without it, but you cannot collect below it.

Rewards in the volume and ROI categories are paid as USDT Futures trial fund; the captain reward is paid in USDT crypto [1].

From the eve to the whistle

The shape of the next two weeks is simple: tonight is the eve; formation closes and the race begins on July 9; the main competition runs to 09:59 on July 23; rewards are settled within 14 days after it ends [1]. Full rules and live figures are on the official event page: https://www.bitbase.com/event/bwtc?ref=EZGZZE [1]

If your squad is still short, tonight is the night to finish it. We covered how teams and captains come together in EP9, and the individual Trophy Picks track in EP8 — tomorrow, all of it meets the whistle.
