Bitbase's annual trading competition. This edition, it takes on football.
Over the past week, THE FIELD has appeared across our channels — a stadium, its lights, and a single idea: that the world's game now lives on every screen it reaches. This week, it takes its name. BWTC — Bitbase World Trading Clash, 2026 Glory of Legends.
This piece sets out what BWTC is, how this edition is structured, and what comes next.
What BWTC is
BWTC is Bitbase's annual trading competition — a recurring event, with each edition carrying its own theme. This edition, that theme is football, and BWTC runs alongside the 2026 World Cup.
The premise is straightforward. The judgment a match demands — reading how play develops, choosing the right moment, committing to a decision — is the judgment a market demands. One unfolds on the pitch, the other on a chart. BWTC brings the two onto the same field: a trading competition that moves with the rhythm of the tournament.
How this edition is structured
For the 2026 football season, BWTC is organised into two formats, each suited to a different way of competing.
Futures Team Pro. Participants form squads and compete as units, with standing determined collectively — a team's result is the sum of its members'.
Trophy Picks. For those who prefer to compete on individual performance, with standing earned independently.
Schedule
The dates are confirmed, and all times follow the competition's official schedule:
-
Registration opens June 22, alongside squad formation and an early window for those who join first.
-
Competition begins July 9, when trading goes live and standings open.
-
The edition concludes July 23, with results to follow.
Promotion pool
The competition carries a promotion pool of 1,000,000 USDT, allocated across two divisions:
-
Futures Team Pro — 800,000 USDT, distributed across a trading-volume board, a returns board, and a captains' award.
-
Trophy Picks — 200,000 USDT, awarded on individual performance.
The allocation within each board — the number of ranked places and the reward at each — will be published when registration opens.
What follows
This is the first entry in On The Field, where we will document BWTC throughout this edition: guides to taking part, standings and analysis once competition begins, and our reading of how markets behave across a tournament.
Full registration details follow on June 22. Until then, the competition can be viewed at https://www.bitbase.com/event/bwtc To be notified when registration opens, follow Bitbase and enable notifications.
